UPDATE 6/8/2020: We reached our $1,000 goal - you brought in $1,066.50. Thank you. Thank you to every person who donated through the raffles, print sales, or even from sharing the posts. Thank you for caring so much about what's going on in our world, and what's happening to our brothers and sisters.
The work does not stop here, though. It is vital to keep educating yourself, using resources, and standing up to racial injustices. Please utilize the list of resources at the bottom of this page.
We cannot forget. George Floyd's murderers have been charged,
Philando Castile's murderer was acquitted.
It took 74 days for Ahmaud Arbery's to be charged.
I will be matching every donation for these fundraisers up to $300. We already have $425 total, with our combined $300's we can get to $1,000. Three ways to do this:
I'm RAFFLING A $100 VOUCHER towards a custom portrait. 100% of the raffle proceeds will go to Color of Change - so far at $210. * $10 per entry (Venmo: @karinasorensen | PayPal: www.paypal.me/karinasorensen) * You can send larger amounts to be counted as individual entries ($50 = 5 entries) * Please write your email as the memo (unless I know you!). If you don't get a confirmation email from me, I did not receive it!
If you donate to any racial justice organization on your own and email me the receipt, I will include that donation in the $300 and match that, as well.
We cannot forget. We cannot be angry for a few days and then move on. POC do not have the privilege of moving on when they're tired. The odds are already stacked against this movement, considering this has been going on for decades. But nothing is going to change at all without people's voices. Especially white voices, to use our privilege to share this information. Please take a look at the resources I've compiled below - do your research, do your due diligence, and make the most out of the status you've been given: the opportunity to act and speak without the same fears that have been forced onto our black community.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in these fundraisers so far! I want to see this get to $1,000. I am eager to match the donations up to $300 this weekend. Hurry. ❤️
