So stoked to be in the Autumn Art Fest, an art show + vendor market, at The Mad Lab in November! I haven't done a show this year + I LOVE autumn fun things, but I'm extra-excited because it's full of collaboration with so many of my art friends from our time at WCSU 💙🧡
My vibrant, sassy (both her, and her artwork!) old roomie Octavia is organizing the entire event + selling her custom tote bags; my hysterical, sweet old roomie Nahndi designed the flyer; my mystical, kind friend Casey will be selling artwork, as well. I will have artwork displayed + for sale in the gallery for a week, ending with the Autumn Art Fest vendor market where I'll be selling prints and a few original portraits on Nov. 14th from 1-6pm. Tickets are only $3 online!
All of the media was released today, and it got me so excited and thinking about how important creative businesses + women-owned businesses are, and especially the best: women-owned creative businesses. Small + local businesses are what make the world go round, especially women-run since it took so long for women to even open a debit card (thanks, RBG) let alone own a business. With today + tomorrow being ~Amazon Prime Day~ I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite small, local women-run shops (including my 3 bff's listed above!) for you to support instead of ~Amazon~. ❤️

Things to Do:
Glazey Dayz, my first-ever job: a paint-your-own pottery studio located in Watertown, CT. Heather also offers glass-making, mixed media classes, paint nights, and clay classes.
Images Studio, my current incredible job: a local portrait studio in Watertown, CT. Lisa has had this business for over 30 years and helps produce beautiful portraits of seniors and families.
Dana Elaine Photography - Lisa (above)'s daughter! Located in Southbury, CT, Dana brings a more casual feel to newborn and family portraits.
Amber Upson, who is a new, excited yoga teacher - also offering virtual sessions!
I'm planning on creating a more curated "local holiday shopping guide" as we get closer to gifting season. But please - try to support small, local businesses whenever you can, especially women-owned. Especially on Amazon Prime Day.
